…CULdeBAL after our runway debut at the Bogotá Fashion Week

On May 21st, we made our runway debut at Bogotá Fashion Week 2025.
More than a collection (we presented our Vol.6), it was a dialogue — a fusion of fashion, photography, music, and popular culture, woven from different bathing places around the world.

What we presented was a creative proposal that introduced our collection alongside a seventeen-minute short film starring freediver Sofía Gómez. It was a runway that reaffirmed the way we inhabit fashion: questioning beauty standards, expressing our ideas without filters, without permission, and with memory.

As the blogger The Inexpert put it: “Perhaps …CULdeBAL is an alternative to the saturation of ‘Caribbean Chic,’ but at the same time, it’s the confirmation that those of us who feel somewhat detached from that idea also have a place in the tropics — only from a more semiotic space.”

The concept behind Vol.6

Each garment in this collection carries images captured over 16 years by our Creative Director, Alejandra Quintero — photographs that travel through abandoned spas, beaches, pools, and bodies at rest. Images that bear witness to a kind of fashion conceived from intimacy, humanity, imperfection, and above all, from the freedom to inhabit one’s body and surroundings.

More than 800 people experienced this proposal live with us. It was a celebration of diversity and authenticity — where the photographic archive became textile, and the body, our main territory of expression.

The story behind the show, in the words of Silvia Restrepo, brand enthusiast and stylist of the runway:

  • “Three of Aleja’s vintage cameras accompanied the runway.

  • We went back to our roots: sandals with socks, this time in collaboration with @mppatriciamejia.

  • Unique eyewear by @glassoptics — except for a pair of twins that paid homage to one of the most iconic scenes from The Shining by Stanley Kubrick.

  • We played with scarves, bows, and ties — pure rockstar energy.”

The creative intention behind the vision of our Creative Director, Alejandra Quintero:

“I like to tell stories from a place of decontextualization. I avoid the obvious — that’s why being inspired by and fusing different disciplines into a project built around a photographic series I’ve been developing for so long makes our narrative bold, powerful, and deeply honest.”

About the Casting

We believe in the beauty of the everyday. That’s why, when we searched for the people who would be part of this runway, we looked in the unexpected — without molds. We found models among waiters, mothers, dancers, people we met on the street, and also among more than 800 profiles who applied in a nationwide casting call.

Because at …CULdeBAL, everyone belongs: from the current Miss Colombia, to Maestro Mauricio Bejarano, dancer Sara Biermann, writer Gaby Luz Escobar, and twins David and Daniel Manjarres.

We are a diverse, free, and human community. We don’t force inclusion — it comes naturally.
And that’s exactly what we showed on the runway.
